DevOps Engineer NEEDED - 6 months contract - fully remote - £515-525 a day
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DevOps practices with specific experience in package management tools such as JFrog, Chocolatey, and Homebrew. Additionally, you should be well-versed in managing enterprise device configurations using Microsoft Intune. You will play a critical role in automating and optimizing our software delivery pipeline, ensuring the smooth deployment of software, and managing system configurations across multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Package Management:
- Design, implement, and maintain artifact repositories using JFrog Artifactory.
- Manage software packages and dependencies using Chocolatey (for Windows) and Homebrew (for macOS/Linux).
- Automate the creation, testing, and deployment of packages across multiple environments.
- Infrastructure Automation:
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for various projects, integrating package management tools where necessary.
- Collaborate with software development teams to ensure seamless integration of new software packages and updates.
- Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
- Configuration Management:
- Utilize Microsoft Intune to manage device configurations, enforce security policies, and deploy applications across enterprise devices.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements through automated configuration management.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues across development, testing, and production environments.
- Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively manage infrastructure health.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA, IT operations, and security, to streamline software development and deployment processes.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members on best practices in DevOps and configuration management.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Proven experience with JFrog Artifactory, Chocolatey, Homebrew, and Microsoft Intune.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e.g., Git), and build automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Familiarity with security best practices in DevOps, including vulnerability management, patch management, and compliance.
- Experience with additional configuration management tools (e.g., Chef, Puppet).
- Certifications in DevOps, cloud platforms, or relevant technologies.
- Experience with multi-platform environments (Windows, macOS, Linux).
